Canada’s Wonderland has officially welcomed its one billionth rider

31 July 20262 Mins Read

Imagine heading to Canada’s Wonderland for a casual summer day, only to discover you’re about to become part of the Vaughan amusement park’s history forever.

That’s exactly what happened to an Ontario family of four who were enjoying a day at Wonderland when it was announced that one of them had officially become the park’s one billionth rider.

John and Kim S., along with their kids Annabelle and John Jr., were riding Thunder Run when an announcement from Christopher Mortensen, president of Canada’s Wonderland, came over the station speakers, confirming that their daughter had reached the milestone.

“Reaching one billion riders is an incredible moment in Canada’s Wonderland’s history. For more than four decades, our guests have trusted us to be part of their family traditions and most memorable moments,” Mortensen said in a blog post published on Six Flags’ official website.

To celebrate, the Kingston-based family was greeted by Snoopy and received a Canada’s Wonderland prize package that included merch, return tickets to the park, and Fast Lane Plus vouchers.

While Annabelle became the park’s one billionth rider after boarding Thunder Run, it is Dragon Fyre that holds the record as Canada’s Wonderland’s most-ridden ride. The 78-foot-tall helix coaster has carried 45.7 million riders since the park opened in 1981.

Canada’s Wonderland remains a summer staple for many families, offering everything from unique food offerings to the Splash Works water park and over 200 attractions, including an array of roller coasters for thrillseekers of all ages.
