Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Why She Decided To Leave of Southern California

26 September 20253 Mins Read

Candace Cameron Bure is opening up about her decision to say goodbye to Southern California.

The beloved TV star, 49, rose to international stardom as big sister D.J. Tanner on the iconic sitcom Full House and continued to play her iconic character in the show’s spinoff, Fuller House, which ran from 2016 to 2020. But when filming on that show ended, Cameron Bure decided her time in Southern California had also concluded.

In a new Instagram Q&A with followers, Cameron Bure opened up about her decision to ditch SoCal despite being born and raised in the area. One follower asked, “Why did you leave SoCal?”

In response, Cameron Bure spoke candidly about her decision to leave.

“I still love SoCal, but L.A. is certainly not the same since growing up there and especially since 2020,” said Cameron Bure, who did not elaborate on what she was referring to. “I also love living in a smaller town where people really do know your name (not because I’m on TV. And this beauty?? What’s not to love!?” She posted the text over a stunning image of the sun breaking through the trees with what looks like a vineyard and mountains behind it.

Her Kids Are Grown

Cameron Bure and her husband, Valeri, have three children: Natasha, 27, and sons Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23. With the three kids out of the house, they decided now was the perfect time for a change. She previously spoke a bit about relocating in her Instagram stories, saying it was “Mostly for security reasons. Also, family dynamics have changed. The kids don’t live in Los Angeles anymore. Mama will go where they go! I travel a lot. The seasons of life,” she shared in 2024, US Magazine reported. “I want to meet new people. I want to learn lessons, I want to grow and I feel like where I am right now in my life, this is like the perfect opportunity to go and get out of my comfort zone and go do something that is different and that I normally wouldn’t do.”

Candace is heading out on Tour

While she may be into staying close to home these days, Cameron Bure has a bit of travel coming up. She’s heading out on a four-city tour this November.

“Join Candace for a two-hour experience filled with interactive games, prizes, heartfelt stories, and meaningful conversations rooted in faith. With special guest and celebrity fitness expert Kira Stokes, you’ll learn practical tips for staying motivated, building healthy habits, and keeping joy at the center of your wellness journey,” a synopsis on the tour page reads. “Candace will also share her personal walk of faith in Hollywood—an honest look at the challenges, the moments of joy, and the lessons that shaped her along the way. Come ready to laugh, move, and be uplifted. You’ll leave with more than memories—you’ll take home encouragement to live with purpose, joy, and a deeper faith!”
