You can now take as many pictures of Leon as you want with Resident Evil Requiem’s photo mode

Capcom rolled out a new update for Resident Evil Requiem on Friday. While it brings several bug fixes to the hit horror game, its community is already taking advantage of the update’s most notable addition: photo mode.

At almost any time while playing Resident Evil Requiem, players can pause the game and activate photo mode at the press of a button. From there, you can capture that moment from different angles and with different filters, or pose Leon and Grace to create a photo to your liking. The official X account for Resident Evil has already highlighted what photo mode could do.

Photo modes are powerful tools in video games, and the Resident Evil community has already taken some memorable pictures. Take these photos from Reddit user TheDarkZEK. The great composition of them highlights how gorgeous of a game Resident Evil Requiem is and how players now have ever better means to capture it.

I’ll keep an eye on the screenshots page of Resident Evil Requiem’s Steam Community going forward to see what else the community can create with this new photo mode. Its addition also serves as further proof that there is really no need for Capcom and Nvidia to mess with this game’s visual style and character models with DLSS 5.

Outside of photo mode, this Resident Evil Requiem update fixes some visual and progression-blocking bugs, corrects typos, removes an infinite ammo exploit, and even adds some new character expressions in cutscenes that Capcom says will “better convey emotions.” You can check out the full list of patch notes below for a fuller rundown on what has been added or changed:

All platforms:

  • Photo mode has been added. It can be accessed from the pause menu.
  • Fixed a bug that caused progress to be impossible under certain conditions.
  • Typographical errors in some languages have been corrected.
  • Character expressions in some cutscenes have been adjusted to better convey emotion.
  • A number of issues were fixed to improve gameplay.

Steam/Epic Games Store:

  • Fixed visual bugs that occurred with some GPU drivers.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash in some circumstances.

Resident Evil Requiem is available now for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. In addition to these free post-launch updates, Capcom plans to release a story expansion and a new minigame for Resident Evil Requiem in the future.
