Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo, marking the brand’s second location in Japan.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has opened the Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo, located in the Nihonbashi Kabutocho area of Tokyo. The 195-room hotel is situated near Kayabacho and Nihonbashi subway stations, providing easy access to Tokyo Station, Marunouchi, and Ginza, as well as connections to Haneda and Narita airports.

The new hotel is part of the Caption by Hyatt brand, which was first introduced in 2022. This brand focuses on providing upscale, focused-service accommodations with self-service options. The Tokyo location joins other Caption by Hyatt properties in Shanghai, Osaka, and Nashville.

The hotel features 195 guestrooms, with sizes ranging from 236 to 581 square feet. The design of the rooms is inspired by the local Kabutocho area, incorporating themes such as “BRIDGE,” “COMMUNITY,” “OLD & NEW,” and “FUTURE.” The interior design was led by Australian design studio Mitchell & Eades, drawing on traditional Japanese crafts and the historical significance of the Kabutocho district.

The Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo features a fitness center and offers amenities such as self-service check-in, complimentary Wi-Fi, and TV streaming. Suites are equipped with in-room washer/dryers. The hotel also emphasizes sustainability, having been awarded the DBJ Green Building Certification for its environmental performance. The building features a hybrid timber and steel structure, and its operations include refillable water stations and a reduction in single-use plastics.

The hotel’s central feature is Talk Shop, an all-day social space designed for dining, working, and socializing. The space offers a menu featuring options such as craft burgers and plant-based dishes, along with beverages like custom-blend coffee and craft beers. Talk Shop also hosts cultural programs, including workshops and jazz nights, open to both guests and the public.

Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho Tokyo is the first hotel in Tokyo to receive the DBJ Green Building Certification, recognizing its commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being. The hotel was constructed using a hybrid timber and steel structure to reduce its carbon footprint.
