Caroline Rhea Sends Direct Message to Taylor Swift After Sharing 'Magical' Story of Meeting Pop Star

10 October 20253 Mins Read

Caroline Rhea sent a direct message to Taylor Swift after recounting a “magical” story of meeting the pop superstar.

On Oct. 9, the Sabrina the Teenage Witch actress—who played Aunt Hilda Spellman alongside Beth Broderick‘s Aunt Zelda Spellman and Melissa Joan Hart‘s Sabrina Spellman—took to Instagram with an old photo of herself with Swift, 35.

“She’s amazing and she is so magical that I am making her an honorary #Spellman,” Rhea declared in her update. Thanks @taylorswift for being so kind.”

In the comments, Rhea’s followers agreed with her assessment while flooding the comedian with praise.

One Instagram user declared, “Two talented blondes at the absolute prime of their powers! Love both of u!!! ❤️🙌.”

Another follower shared, “As a long time Sabrina and Taylor fan this brings me so much joy! 🥰.”

Someone else echoed, “Love this so much! She should definitely be an Honorary Spellman!”

Meanwhile, yet another fan commented, “I always knew Aunt Hilda was my fav 😍.”

That same day, Rhea posted two videos of herself revealing how the photo came to be as she recounted the day she and her daughter, Ava, got to meet Swift.

“We were going to go backstage and meet her and get an autograph and a picture,” she shared in the first clip, seemingly during one of her stand-up comedy sets. “So we get backstage, and the producer calls me and says, ‘You know what, we’re not going to be able to see Taylor Swift. She’s so popular now, she’s just going to wave when she goes by, but you probably won’t get to meet her or take a picture.”

As Rhea joked, she decided to call her sister and loudly discuss all of the shows and celebrities she was dealing with when Swift’s manager walked into the room.

“I’m just going to look important in front of this manager and impress him so much,” she said to herself as she name-dropped Sabrina the Teenage Witch, David Letterman, Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire and more.

In the second video, Rhea explained how she and Ava got to speak with and take a photo with Swift after all.

“I know I wasn’t really a witch and I only identify as one, but that day, I used magical powers, OK?” she recalled. “Taylor Swift walked by…and I am like Doctor Strange in a Marvel movie, I’m like…” she added, while moving her hands as if she were moving Swift closer to her with her mind.

Rhea continued, “She walks over to my daughter and she, leans down and she goes, ‘Hi, I’m Taylor.’ And Ava goes, ‘Hi, I’m Ava.’ And she goes, ‘Your mother is so funny.’ And I go like this, ‘OH MY GOD! HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!’ It was so humiliating.”

Although Rhea said Ava was “so embarrassed,” they took the photo that she then shared on Instagram. “Magical,” indeed!
