CBRE Advises on $106 Million Manhattan's Lowell Hotel Refinancing

In Brief: CBRE advised Kensico Properties on a $106 million refinancing of The Lowell Hotel, a 74-key property at 28 East 63rd Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Blue Owl Capital provided a $106 million senior loan to replace existing debt. The CBRE team was led by Matthew Klauer.

The Lowell Hotel is located between Madison and Park avenues at 28 East 63rd Street. Kensico Properties has owned and operated the hotel since its development in 1984.

The property has 74 guestrooms and suites, many with wood-burning fireplaces, private terraces and residential-style layouts.

The hotel is within walking distance of Central Park, Museum Mile and Madison Avenue’s retail corridor. Its food-and-beverage venues include Majorelle, Jacques Bar, The Club Room and The Pembroke Room.

The Lowell has received recognition from Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler and The Leading Hotels of the World. In 2025, Andrew Harper named The Lowell the Best Hotel in the World.
