Charming lake towns and cities to visit in Alberta this summer

3 June 20252 Mins Read

Temperatures are on the rise, and we’re looking ahead to hotter nights and longer days, specifically ones we can spend in the sun. Luckily, there is no shortage of adorable lake towns in Alberta where we can get a tan and make a splash this summer.

From exhilarating activities and buzzing bars, there will be plenty to do this season, but there’s something extra special about getting out of the city for a weekend.

Whether you’re looking to dip your toes in the water or play in the sand, a lake town staycation is a must!

Here are just a few that you can visit with your friends, family, or special someone:

Starting things off strong. With a beach like Kinosoo, parks and trails like the Iron Horse, hotels and campsites, the City of Cold Lake is an action-packed community with a calendar full of fun. Go fishing, swimming, golfing, or just lounge. The area is your oyster.
