Choice Hotels International said Chief Human Resources Officer Patrick Cimerola will retire at the end of 2026 after 25 years with the company.
Cimerola joined Choice Hotels in 2001 and has served in roles focused on the company’s people strategy and leadership development. His tenure included chief executive officer transitions, the integration of major acquisitions and the company’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cimerola will continue as chief human resources officer through December 2026. After leaving the position, he will serve as a special adviser to support the leadership transition.
Choice Hotels will conduct an executive search for Cimerola’s successor.
Dom Dragisich, president and chief executive officer of Choice Hotels International, said Cimerola contributed to the company’s culture, values and leadership principles. Stewart Bainum Jr., chairman of Choice Hotels International, said Cimerola served as an adviser during periods of change at the company.
