Chrishell Stause is responding to Mel Owens‘ controversial comments about his upcoming Golden Bachelor season – and it’s safe to say she’s not happy.
The Selling Sunset star, 43, took to Instagram Thursday, June 26 to share her thoughts after Owens, 66, made headlines for saying he would only consider women below the age of 60.
“We love the Golden Bachelor because of how wholesome it is,” Stause wrote via her Instagram Stories, reacting to a headline about Owens’ comments. “This type of energy will ruin it.”
Stause set her post to the song “Hell to Da Naw Naw Naw.” by Bishop Bullwinkle. She also added a GIF of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews saying “EWW.”

Along with his age preferences, which range between 45 and 60, Owens shared on the June 4 episode of the MGoBlue podcast with Jon Jansen other attributes he’s looking for in a wife.
“[The producers] asked me, ‘What is my profile?’ Well, [the women] got to be fit, because I’m staying in shape and work out and stuff,” he said. “I told them, ‘Try to stay away from the artificial hips and the wigs, you know, that kind of stuff, right?'”
Additionally, the former professional football player said he’s looking for a partner who is a “lifetime learner” and loves to “work out, stay fit, eat, have fun, be energetic and live life.”
The Golden Bachelor season 2 is expected to premiere in fall 2025 on ABC.
