Classic Taco Bell Menu Item Gets Limited-Edition Revamp That's 'Cheesier' and 'Spicier' Than Ever Before

16 October 20253 Mins Read

Taco Bell is ready to set taste buds “ablaze” with its latest menu innovation.

The international fast food chain has been on a kick with its spicy menu updates (pun intended), only launching a limited-edition Frank’s RedHot Diablo sauce earlier this week.

Backtrack even further, to the second quarter of the year, some may recall hearing that Taco Bell had begun testing a Flamin’ Hot menu collab–and those weren’t rumors, as we previously reported, the menu items were made available for a limited time at select restaurants in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, during a short period of time in April.

At the time, Taco Bell fans made it clear they were in support of the addition regardless of where they were located and begged the company to release it more widely. It may have taken six months, but the new Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito is finally arriving at Taco Bell locations nationwide.

“We know how much love there is for the signature spice of Flamin’ Hot, and our fans are always looking for cheesier, crunchier menu items from us,” Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer, explained in a statement, suggesting the Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito “brings all these elements together–taking the heat, the crispy Fritos crunch, and cheesy goodness on the inside and out of our classic burrito.”

New Flamin’ Hot Collab Takes a Taco Bell Classic in a ‘New Direction’

The Beefy Crunch Burrito is a classic, no one will argue that, especially not Taco Bell. Still, the company said the Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito is a “soon-to-be new favorite” that takes the beloved offer in “a new direction.” One that’s “cheesier, spicer and ready to ignite a new wave of cravings.”

According to the official announcement, Taco Bell’s Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito features rice infused with Flamin’ Hot flavor and a zesty seasoning blend of red peppers, cheddar cheese powder, garlic, paprika, and lime. It’s then layered with seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, creamy chipotle sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, a three-cheese blend and Fritos Flamin’ Hot corn chips to add extra crunch and spice, before being wrapped up in a tortilla and grilled with a blanket of melty cheese atop, creating a “bold balance of spice and indulgence.”

Taco Bell’s new Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito finally debuts nationwide.

The Flamin’ Hot Grilled Cheese Burrito will be available nationwide for $5.49 à la carte or as part of the $9 Discovery Luxe Cravings Box, beginning today (Oct. 16) but only while supplies last.

And should you be craving something sweet (or need something ice-cold to put out the fire of the Flamin’ Hot flavor), Taco Bell has you covered with two “yummy” new flavors of its soda freezes, its recently released exclusive Mountain Dew flavor (Baja Midnight), and a new limited time dessert collab that reimagines the cool and creamy comfort of a Choco Taco, dubbed the Tacolate.
