Time for a big birthday celebration, Toronto! One of the world’s most beloved beer brands, Corona, is celebrating 100 years under the sun by inviting everyone to slow down and ’embrace their beachside.’
Since 1925, Corona has embodied the warm spirit of beachside living, where time slows, connections deepen, and nature’s beauty takes centre stage.
To mark its centennial and say cheers to this milestone, Corona has curated a list of iconic 100 beaches across the globe — each boasting the best in natural beauty, impressive impacts on beachside culture, and the most stunning golden-hour views. The list also includes a hidden gem in Ontario you won’t want to skip this summer.
For many busy Toronto residents, an escape to the beach during their Monday-to-Friday probably seems miles away… But, on Monday, May 5, Corona is bringing that feeling of the ocean breeze to downtown Toronto with a centennial celebration during golden hour — more on that later.
Find your beach bliss
Each beach on the curated list, known as the Corona Beach 100, is “Sun Awarded,” rated between one to three suns, and embodies three essential beach qualities: Beachside Culture, Connection to Nature, and Scenic Aesthetics.
The Ontario beach getting a shoutout? Little Cove Beach, a hidden gem tucked away on Lake Huron in Tobermory, ON. With its turquoise waters and white cobblestone shoreline, Little Cove captures the best of the Bruce Peninsula.
Another Canadian pick is Cox Bay, just outside of Tofino on Vancouver Island. This beach is surrounded by lush forest and home to surf-friendly waves, making it a West Coast favourite for a reason.
Sipping on sunshine

“For 100 years, Corona has embodied the essence of the beach lifestyle, inspiring people from around the world to disconnect from their everyday routine and reconnect with nature,” says Mike D’Agostini, Senior Marketing Director at Corona Canada, in a press release.
“As Canada’s weather shifts to best enjoy the beach, we hope Canadians take advantage of flocking to our nation’s many beaches this summer and consider a specific visit to Tofino and Tobermory to celebrate a century of cheers with Corona.”
Head to Yonge & Dundas on May 5
And if you’re in Toronto, Corona Canada is bringing a little slice of calm to one of the city’s busiest intersections. While the brand is staying tight-lipped on the details, you can head to Yonge-Dundas Square on May 5 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to catch a taste of golden-hour magic, and unplug with Corona.
