Costco's Genius New Snack-Serving Find Includes the Most Convenient Feature

27 August 20253 Mins Read

In my household, we’re a family of snackers, or grazers, if you will. This might be because we’re constantly on the go (school drop-off, school pickup, sports practice, games, art classes—you get the idea). Since we spend a lot of time in the car, you could say we’re almost always tailgating in a way. Often grabbing quick bites from the car (albeit not the trunk).

But even when we’re actually sitting still for a change, charcuterie always goes over well with my kids. We like options, maybe that’s why I find myself serving small bites and using our beloved Lazy Susan so often. Keeping portable snacks in mind, a new storage caddy at Costco basically stopped me in my tracks.

The Sabatier Snacklebox 2-piece Set with Cutting Board Lids is not only perfect for schlepping a lot of different snacks around on the daily, but also perfect for assembling a charcuterie board at your next tailgating party. It’s $24.99 and while both fridge-safe and microwave-safe, Costco recommends hand washing the componentry instead of sticking it in the dishwasher (womp womp). But that’s a small price to pay for the set which includes two Snackleboxes with matching lids—one large and one small.

The larger box includes 11 compartments while the smaller one has 7 compartments. But the real genius piece here is that the lids also function as cutting boards. So if you choose, you can take the various snacks out of their compartments and arrange them artfully on the cutting boards.

Building a Better Snack Box

If, like me, you’re using this as your on-the-go snack savior for hungry kids (and adults), you might be wondering how you’re going to choose 11 different bites to go into each of the compartments. Of course, you can fill some of the sections with the same thing if it’s a family favorite. But if you’re looking for ideas, consider these for a nice mix of salty and sweet.

  • Cheddar Cheese Cubes: Bite-sized, protein-packed and (usually) kid-approved
  • Mini Pretzels: Crunchy, salty and great for dipping
  • Roasted Chickpeas: Crispy, seasoned and full of fiber
  • Dried Mango: Naturally sweet and chewy
  • Yogurt-Covered Raisins: Just classic lunchbox nostalgia
  • Mini Granola Bites: Oats, honey and maybe a few chocolate chips
  • Fruit Leather Strips: Sweet, portable and a beloved treat
  • Pita Chips: Great Pair hummus (which could also go into a compartment) or solo
  • Trail Mix: A sweet and salty energy booster
  • Chocolate-Covered Almonds: There’s chocolate, what more do you need?
  • Parmesan Crisps: Savory and crunchy, but gluten-free
