‘Crooks’ Season 2 Confirmed for 2026 Release on Netflix

Netflix’s hit German crime drama Crooks is officially back in business. Filming completed on the second season midway through last year, with the streamer confirming a 2026 release window alongside a first look at Charly and Joseph back in action.

It has been over a year and a half since Netflix first renewed the series in June 2024, following a breakout performance that saw it hit the top 10s in over 80 countries. While fans have been eagerly awaiting news, Netflix has now provided a concrete update: production has now long since completed, and the new season is set to premiere in 2026.

As part of its Next on Netflix 2026 (What Next?) reveal, Netflix Germany has teased details about the second season, including its release window. 

What is Crooks Season 2 about?

When we last left Charly (Frederick Lau) and Joseph (Christoph Krutzler), they had survived a chaotic chase across Europe. In Season 2, the stakes are raised as the setting expands to include new territories and threats.

According to the official synopsis, Charly’s attempt at a peaceful life in Berlin is short-lived. His dark past catches up with him when old “acquaintances” threaten his family, forcing him into a heist involving a valuable coin. Joseph, the clan driver from Vienna, is tasked with transporting the loot to Austria.

Naturally, the plan fails spectacularly. A shootout ensues, someone dies, and the fates of Charly and Joseph collide once again. The new season is described as an “adventurous and action-packed road trip across three national borders,” as the pair must flee to protect Charly’s family while battling clans from Berlin, Vienna, and now Marseille.

Season 2 was filmed across multiple locations in 2025, with production wrapping in mid-July, according to local reports. Speaking to Serienjunkies, Frederick Lau teased, “We were in Bangkok, in Vienna. I think we’ve almost surpassed the first season,” adding, “I believe it’s something that hasn’t been seen before in German series productions. I think we’ll set new standards with it.”

Frederick Lau and Christoph Krutzler are confirmed to return as the central pair, Charly and Joseph.
