Netflix is closing out February with a bang. Revealed as part of the February 2026 lineup, the Dave Bautista-led action thriller Trap House is set to debut on Netflix US next month, marking its SVOD debut.
Directed by Michael Dowse (Stuber, Goon), the film mixes high-octane DEA action with a Goonies-style teen heist plot. Following its initial release in late 2025, the movie is now ready to find a massive new audience on the world’s biggest streamer, joining other recent Bautista hits like Glass Onion and Army of the Dead.
We can confirm that Trap House will be available to stream on Netflix US starting Friday, February 27th, 2026. It comes to Netflix following its initial theatrical release in mid-November 2025 and subsequent VOD release.
The movie is distributed by Aura Entertainment in the United States, although the movie has already found distribution elsewhere, including on Prime Video in the UK. Aura Entertainment is a relatively new enterprise, meaning that this is their first streaming debut with Netflix. It’s unclear whether other released titles like Under The Stars, Wildcat, Coyotes, or Icefall will join Netflix in the near future.
What is Trap House about?
The film offers a fresh twist on the cartel thriller genre by pitting generation against generation. It follows Ray Seale (Bautista), an undercover DEA agent working in El Paso, Texas. He and his partner are on the hunt for a brazen new crew of thieves who seem to know the cartel’s operations inside and out.
The twist? The thieves are their own teenagers. Using their parents’ tactical gear and top-secret intel, the kids embark on a dangerous Robin Hood-style mission to rob the cartel, leading to a deadly game of cat-and-mouse where Ray has to save his son from the very criminals he hunts.
The official synopsis reads:
“In El Paso, Texas an undercover DEA agent and his partner embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious group of thieves: their own rebellious teenagers. The teens begin to rob from a dangerous cartel, using their parents’ tactics and top-secret intel.”
It should be noted that the movie received mostly mixed reviews from critics and audiences. In one of the more positive reviews, Jim Vorel for Paste Magazine wrote, “Trap House thus evolves into a cat-and-mouse game between the cartel murder squads on one side, the valorous DEA squad on the other, and the idiotically overconfident kids caught in the middle.”
Who is in the cast?
The movie features a strong ensemble cast, blending veteran action stars with rising young talent:
- Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Ray Seale.
- Bobby Cannavale (The Watcher) as Ray’s DEA partner.
- Jack Champion (Avatar: The Way of Water) as Cody, Ray’s son and the leader of the teen crew.
- Sophia Lillis (It, Dungeons & Dragons).
- Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul) as the cartel leader.
- Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur).
- Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl).
