15 December 20255 Mins Read

Picture: Bleecker Street, Netflix, Warner Bros. Television

It’s the penultimate full week of 2025, and Netflix has a lot to look forward to over the last few days as we gear up for the big Christmas break. Below, we’ll pick out three things that should be on your radar over the next seven days and look at all 42 new releases currently scheduled.

Looking ahead, we’ve already got a big list of what’s coming up in January, although there’s plenty more to be added as the lineup continues to be unveiled. There’s also a lot to look forward to over the Christmas break, including Stranger Things coming back in two instalments, plus lots of new movies and series releases.

Quite a few big removals are planned for this week, including three titles from The CW: The 100, Arrow, and Supernatural. You can’t start binges for any of those now, but if you’re close to the end, you’ll want to hurry up. We’d also recommend watching the Canadian sitcom Son of a Critch, which leaves next Monday, alongside the Netflix Original movie Vicky and Her Mystery.

Most Anticipated New Releases on Netflix This Week

Emily in Paris (Season 5)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

New faces and new locations are the big draws for this returning Netflix megahit just in time for the Christmas season. We’ll see Emily facing some new challenges and also head to Venice for the first time, in addition to Rome and, of course, Paris. Among the new faces? Minnie Driver, Michèle Laroque, Jonathan Cake, and Bryan Greenberg.

The official synopsis for season 5 reads, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But as soon as everything finally falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”

Relay (2025)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

December has been full of SVOD debuts so far, but one of the ones we think you should be most excited for is Relay from Bleecker Street, which is headlined by Riz Ahmed and Lily James, with Sam Worthington and Willa Fitzgerald rounding out the big draws for the cast.

The conspiracy thriller follows a broker of lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten them, who breaks his own rules when a new client seeks his protection to stay alive. It picked up solid reviews upon its theatrical release late this Summer, and we suspect it’ll continue to do just that later in the week.

61st Street (Seasons 1-2)

Coming to Netflix: Tuesday

AMC’s output on Netflix continues this week with two new titles joining the catalog in the US: Moonhaven, an underrated sci-fi series, and 61st Street, a severely underrated crime drama that ran for two seasons across both AMC and The CW, with both now finally confirmed to be heading to the streamer.

Moses Johnson, a talented Black high school athlete with a promising future, is suddenly pulled into Chicago’s notoriously corrupt criminal justice system. Wrongly labeled a gang member, he becomes a target of a vengeful investigation, with police and prosecutors determined to pin the fallout of a deadly drug bust on him. As the pressure mounts, Moses and his lawyer, Franklin Roberts, find themselves fighting not just for his freedom but for his life at the center of a system eager to make an example.
