The final week of the year is pulling double duty on Netflix, closing out 2025 while kickstarting 2026 with a packed slate of new arrivals. From the long awaited finale of Stranger Things to a fresh Harlan Coben mystery and a hefty New Year’s Day movie dump, there’s no shortage of reasons to keep the remote close as the calendar flips. Here’s everything coming to Netflix this week, plus our top picks you won’t want to miss.

As a reminder, we’re still learning of new releases coming up throughout January 2026 and updating our complete guide to the month as and when we get new titles. Also, given we’re entering a new year, head over to our full release schedule for the year.

What to Watch on Netflix This Week

Run Away (Limited Series)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

For the third year in a row, Netflix is kicking off the year with a Harlan Coben mystery series from the United Kingdom. Unlike the prior British iterations, Richard Armitage won’t be fronting the cast, but the good news is that there’s plenty of other heavy-hitters to make up for that loss. “How far into the tangled web of dark secrets would you go to find your missing daughter?” reads the official synopsis, continuing, “A desperate father searching for his runaway daughter gets caught up in a murder case — and stumbles upon secrets which could destroy his family for good.”

The new series stars James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver, and Alfred Enoch. You can read our full review of the series, published yesterday, here.

Found (Seasons 1-2)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

Found Releasing On Netflix Soon

Another broadcast casualty hoping for a “Suits effect” second life is the NBC procedural Found, which makes its streaming debut on Netflix this January. Fresh off its cancellation after two seasons, the series stars Shanola Hampton (Shameless) as Gabi Mosely, a crisis management specialist dedicated to finding missing people the system has overlooked—often people of color or those from marginalized communities. However, the show’s hook lies in Gabi’s dark secret: she has tracked down the man who kidnapped her as a child (played by a chilling Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and holds him captive in her basement to use his twisted mind to solve cases. Also starring Kelli Williams and Brett Dalton, this psychological thriller will be hoping for a big boom in viewership and hopefully, a season 3 pickup.

Stranger Things (Season 5 – Volume 3)

Coming to Netflix: Wednesday

3,456 days after the first season aired on Netflix, Stranger Things, at least in terms of the mothership show, will be coming to an end on New Year’s Eve (or Day if you’re in Europe or further East) with one last episode.

Titled The Rightside Up, the episode will have a total runtime of 2 hours and 8 minutes. If you’ve spent a second on social media, particularly X, you’ll know a lot is riding on the third volume, with many left unsatisfied with what’s coming in the new batch of episodes over Christmas. Expect the full trailer for the new batch of episodes on December 30th (yes, the day before release) that will give us our final tease ahead of the epic showdown between Vecna and our heroes.
