Delaware North Acquires Cactus Moon Lodge Near Austin

Delaware North has acquired Cactus Moon Lodge, a special-event venue near Austin, Texas, with plans for further development.

Delaware North has completed the acquisition of Cactus Moon Lodge, a resort-style venue situated near Austin, Texas. The property spans 22 acres in the Texas Hill Country, approximately 5 miles from Dripping Springs, 30 miles from Austin, and 70 miles from San Antonio. The acquisition marks Delaware North’s entry into the Texas lodging market.

The Cactus Moon Lodge features eight cabin-style lodging units and a main lodge that includes a grand room, dining area, and an open-concept kitchen. The main lodge features an outdoor deck with seating for approximately 100 people, overlooking a pool and offering views of the surrounding ravine. Additionally, the venue features a 6,000-square-foot Spanish-style courtyard that can accommodate up to 300 people, as well as a 100-space parking lot.

The property is renowned for hosting weddings and special events, thanks to its proximity to Dripping Springs, often referred to as the “wedding capital of Texas.” The surrounding area features natural springs, waterfalls, and hiking trails.

Delaware North’s parks and resorts division will manage the Cactus Moon Lodge. The company intends to expand the lodge’s group and event business by offering a year-round calendar of events. This acquisition aligns with Delaware North’s strategy to grow its portfolio of lodging and hospitality services, which currently includes nearly 25 locations across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.

While Delaware North has existing operations in Texas, including food and beverage services at Globe Life Field in Arlington and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, this acquisition represents its first lodging operation in the state. The company plans to leverage the Austin area’s appeal for outdoor recreation, culture, and technology to attract a diverse range of visitors to the Cactus Moon Lodge.
