With every new season of Diablo 4 comes new seasonal mechanics and content. In Sins of the Horadrim, you’ll be able to create customized spells, explore strongrooms inside Nightmare Dungeons, and craft powerful jewels to improve your builds. Additionally, players in both eternal and seasonal realms can take part in a new endgame challenge in Escalating Nightmares.

What to expect from Diablo 4 season 9
Sins of the Horadrim is introducing a bunch of new content for both the seasonal and eternal realms with a heavy focus on end game content. With season 9, you’ll take part in a new seasonal questline that’ll have you tracking down corrupted blood relics to eventually face off against Astaroth.
As you progress through the seasonal questline, you’ll harness ancient powers to create unique Horadric Spells. Each spell is made up of three components:
There are a ton of different spell combinations as there are a variety of catalysts, infusions, and arcana to choose from and you can apply up to three different arcana effects to your Horadric Spell.
After you’ve completed the story, you can test your might with Horadric Strongrooms, which have a chance to appear in Nightmare Dungeons. The Horadric Strongroom is a micro-dungeon where you’ll need to find and activate a Horadric Gateway, which will cause monsters to ambush your location. After you clear the monsters, you’ll enter the strongroom where you’ll defeat even more enemies and a mini-boss in a timed encounter and earn rewards like Horadric Tomes.
Horadric Tomes allow you to provide Horadric Jewels at the Horadric Lapidary, and these jewels can be inserted into jewelry to provide you with powerful buffs and effects.
If Horadric Strongrooms weren’t hard enough for you, you can try out Escalating Nightmares, which will have you clear three Nightmare Dungeons in a row. But that’s not all you’ll need to worry about as the Nightmare Dungeon affixes will stack as you progress from one dungeon to the next. Additionally, at the end of it all, you can face off an Exalted version of Astaroth.
Lastly, the reliquaries are being updated for the new season with new rewards. The seasonal battle pass reliquary, Sins of the Horadrim, will be free to all players and feature 200 Platinum, a horse mount, and more. The other three paths will be split into Armor, Beasts, and Weapons and feature rewards reflective of the path, but these paths will need to be purchased in order to receive their rewards.
