Toronto is about to shine bright! Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is bringing some of the city’s most dazzling events, cultural showcases and delicious foodie experiences to the forefront.

Whether you’re celebrating with family or just looking to experience the magic, here are the best Diwali celebrations happening in and around Toronto.

Get ready for the biggest celebration of Diwali in the GTA. Expect over 1,000+ artists, 100+ vendors, live performances, and so much more — including fireworks.

When: Oct. 11 and 12, 2025
Time: Noon to 10 p.m.
Where: Nathan Phillips Square
Cost: Free

Diwali Mela: Festival of Lights returns to Gerrard India Bazaar this month. Don’t miss out on this free event featuring a live DJ, sparklers, treats, and sidewalk sales.

When: Oct. 18, 2025
Time: 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: 1432 Gerrard St. E.
Cost: Free to attend

The third Annual North York Diwali Fest – Festival of Lights returns to Mel Lastman Square. Get ready for three fun-filled days of South Asian heritage through art, music, dance, food, and cultural activities.

“This annual event brings together diverse communities to foster inclusivity and cultural appreciation,” shares organizers. “The festival features live performances, interactive workshops, a bustling marketplace, food stalls offering international cuisines, and family-friendly activities, creating a joyous atmosphere for all ages.”

When: Oct. 10 to 12, 2025
Time: Friday from 5 p.m. to late, Saturday and Sunday from noon to late.
Where: Mel Lastman Square – 5100 Yonge St.
Cost: Free

Ready to party for Diwali? There’s a Bollywood Diwali party in Toronto, where tradition meets modern club culture. Expect some of the best DJs spinning Bollywood, House, and Fusion all night long. And be sure to dress to impress. Think traditional with a luxury twist — sarees, kurtas, lehengas, or glam festive clubwear.
