Nothing is more important than a good night’s rest. But between our busy schedules, eating habits, health issues and more, it’s increasingly hard to get a full and refreshing sleep.

And on top of Canadians’ regular sleep struggles, the daylight time change is scheduled for March 8, which can have major effects on health and safety. British Columbia just announced that it will change their clocks for the last time and switch to permanent, year-round daylight saving time.

Yes, getting older changes your sleep. Here’s what you can do to help

On Monday, March 9 at 11 a.m. ET, sleep expert Dr. Rébecca Robillard will be answering reader questions on how to have a better rest, which lifestyle factors impact your sleep and how to offset the effects of the daylight time change.

Dr. Robillard, PhD, is a clinical neuropsychologist and associate professor at the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She also leads clinical sleep research at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and writes The Globe and Mail’s Sleep Whisperer column.

Will other provinces follow B.C.’s lead and quit the time shift? How much does your diet impact your health? What happens if you don’t get eight hours of sleep a night? Submit your questions now.

How can you have a better rest? Ask a sleep expert
