Let me ask you a question: when did it get so expensive just to organize your home? Maybe there’s some blame to place on social media and the onslaught of organizing influencers who have found a way to make even the most utilitarian of spaces look beautiful. Or maybe it’s just that everything feels so expensive, anyway. But when I see images or videos of these closets and laundry rooms expertly organized with their labeled bins and pretty baskets, I get serious storage envy.
One spot that’s reliably great for affordable storage options is Dollar Tree. And lest you think it’s just functional, plain white bins—nope. The retailer has a lot of organizers and storage that could easily pass for Container Store or even Pottery Barn. You just have to use a discerning eye when scanning those packed shelves.

Essentials 3-Compartment Organizer With Lid, $1.50 at Dollar Tree
Dollar Tree
Take a look at this offering from Dollar Tree. The Essentials 3-Compartment Organizer With Lid is only $1.50 each and it’s so versatile. You could truly use this piece anywhere in your home or at the office, and because it’s a sturdy, clear material, shoppers are actually saying it looks “high end” in their reviews.
I’m not sure which feature makes it the most useful—the lid or the three compartments. Together, the whole situation is truly a game changer. Because you can keep items sorted, but because of the flat lid this organizer also becomes stackable, so you can store a few of these vertically to save space.

It’s also really fun to read the reviews and see all of the different ways Dollar Tree shoppers are using this particular 3-compartment organizer. There are geology-minded folks who are sorting rocks to bring to rock shows (like literal rocks, I’m not talking rockers—there’s no Springsteen here). But others are using them in their pantries, to organize crafting supplies and to corral bathroom toiletries.
“Fantastic,” writes one Dollar Tree customer. “Crystal clear plastic that looks high end. Sturdy, stacks well, lid fits snug. Only wish there were other containers from this same material with the same sharp clean style.”
That wish is echoed by a number of other shoppers in the reviews section who wish they could find this same type of container in more sizes.
If you can’t find these in your local Dollar Tree store, you can order them online but will have to buy them in a bulk case of 12 for $18. However, judging by what customers are saying, you may just want to grab that many anyway.
