Dollar Tree's New Beverage-Inspired Candles 'Look High End' Despite Their $1.25 Price Tag

Let me be open and honest about one thing—I have a candle problem. No matter how many candles I have in my personal reserve, I always find a reason to buy more. They just smell so good, and the set the ambience in my home.

During the summer I love beachy scents and light florals, whereas fall is of course intended for pumpkin and spiced varieties. Winter is all about that Christmas tree scent, and then January through March I like intense, dramatic fragrances. Then I start to come around to the florals and beach smells again. But one scent that basically works year-round? Those modeled after cocktails.

Well, cocktails or wine, really, because these sips are incredible blends of different notes and flavors, just like your standard fragrance. And considering the cost of bar cocktails these days, sniffing them in candle form is a more affordable option.

Beyond great scents, I’m also a sucker for a good value. And while you might be skeptical of Dollar Tree’s $1.25 candles, they have put out some really pretty options. Take, for example, their new Cocktail Scented Candles. They’re sold individually and come in 3-ounce jars.

For my wine lovers there’s a Riesling or a Cabernet scent. Love a cocktail? You’ll find Moscow Mule, Espresso Martini and Mojito fragrances in this collection.

These make really cute little gifts or party favors, too. Just keep in mind that if you order them online from Dollar Tree, you have to purchase a case of 24, and you won’t be able to pick and choose which scents you get. They’ll send you a variety, but there’s no way to know how many of each scent will be in your 24-count box. So when possible, pick these up IRL at a Dollar Tree store.

What People Are Saying

These little candles have Dollar Tree shoppers talking—and they’re saying good things!

“I am very impressed with these candles,” says customer in Massachusetts. “They look much more expensive than they are. The wood lids allow them to be engraved using a laser, really elevating the look. Very happy to be able to personalize these and give them as small gifts. Unfortunately there were only a few available in the store or I would have gotten more.”

Another shopper echoes what the previous person said about the high-end look.

“Absolutely beautiful,” they wrote. “These look very high end…proud to give these as small gifts. Not much scent throw.”
