'Dragons' Den' is holding auditions in Toronto this weekend

Are you an entrepreneur looking for your big break? Dragons’ Den season 21 is underway, with auditions kicking off in Toronto this weekend. The audition tour will travel all over Canada, but if you’re in the area, you’re going to want to get prepared quickly.

Here’s what to know.

If you’re looking for a real investment for your business, with eyes on your product or service from around the country, this is for you. The Toronto auditions will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.,m. at the Glenn Gould Studio on Front Street.

Before you head to the auditions, you will need to fill out an application. The application can be submitted online anytime before Feb. 7, and asks all the basic questions the Dragons will need to know about you.

CBC even offers tips for those who are auditioning, which include pointers such as:

Bring all the equipment you need, and your product, of course.

Bring snacks or any fuel for while you wait

Have the story of your business and you ready to share with the Dragons

Ask yourself: what’s going to make millions of new customers stay glued to their TVs to find out about YOUR product or business? How will your pitch stand out?”

Stick to the format for pitching: “Hello, Dragons/producers, my name is Jane, I’m from Toronto, Ont., and I’m here seeking $100,000 for 20 per cent of my business, Jane’s Book Store.”

All applicants must reside in Canada.
