Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC could be coming soon, fans say

24 March 20262 Mins Read

It’s been a rough couple of years for Dragon’s Dogma 2 fans as there have been no signs of an expansion or DLC, but that may be about to change. A recent social media post from Capcom could well be teasing new content coming to the 2024 RPG, and it’s ignited hopium in the community.

The X post looks, at first glance, to just be celebrating the second anniversary of the game with some artwork depicting a bustling tavern. However, there’s a character standing at the very back of the fray that draws attention due to a blue glow surrounding them, and they’re the only character whose face we can’t see. Their hairstyle and outfit has also never been seen before, so they’re brand-new assets, and there’s a letter visible on the table that translates to “sightings of griffins flying in from the northern region of Organ have been confirmed.”

Thanks to Reddit user Casardis for posting this helpful image, which contextualizes the message with screenshots of loading screen tips. One explains that an “abundance of magickal energy has been detected on the northern edge of Vermund, though the source is as yet unknown,” which could explain the aura surrounding the mysterious character.

Meanwhile, another explains that “the north of the continent is said to be home to an ancient nation, but records of its existence are scarce, and there has been no contact with its people for over a century.” From the moment Dragon’s Dogma 2 launched, fans speculated any story-based expansions would take place in the north, and this only lends credence to that theory.

As expected, fans are all aboard the hype train once again. “I can confidently say, to all the hopium addicts, that this is literally straight up teasing a DLC,” claims JownJawge on Reddit. Meanwhile, gabsteincian spots another clue: the unknown figure is standing in the middle of all the other vocation maisters, implying it’ll be a new class. The popular theory, mentioned a few times in the comments, is that it’ll be a monk vocation that focuses on unarmed combat.

All things considered, I’m sold. When it launched, our reviewer considered it the “best video game adventure since Elden Ring,” so I sympathize with the fans who have been longing for DLC. Organ, here we come.
