Derek Hough may have accidentally slipped the sex of his first child with wife Hayley Erbert in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment during the Tuesday, Oct. 14 episode of Dancing With The Stars.
During “Dedication Night,” Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and her partner Ezra Sosa dedicated a Viennese Waltz to her father Timothy set to “Daughters” by John Mayer. For a portion of the dance, Sosa stepped aside so that Jordan and Timothy could have a father-daughter moment.
When it came time for judges to give feedback on the routine, Hough became choked up and said, “Watching you two dance really made me excited to have that own, my own moment with my…,” before he stopped himself, then saying, “my own child.”
“It’s so beautiful,” he added. “There’s a tenderness. It was simple. There was a care to it. It was just a really beautiful dance. And I hope you both cherish that moment.”
“Well done,” he concluded.
