With Live Action One Piece now on Netflix, we can look ahead to April, which will mark the return of the One Piece anime and a monumental change for the series. Netflix has yet to confirm when the series will be released on the platform, but we have all the broadcast dates for the first cour of One Piece: Elbaf Island Arc.
Since 1999, TOEI Animation has been releasing weekly episodes of the One Piece anime. With very rare breaks during that time, fans of One Piece have been used to seeing the anime on their screens every week. That is all about to change, starting with the One Piece: Elbaf Island Arc.
While episodes of One Piece will still be released weekly, the anime will now be seasonal for the first time in its history. This means that rather than the typical 40+ episodes released throughout the year, the number will be limited to 26 and released in parts (or cours).
It has been confirmed that the first episode of the Elbaf Island Arc will be released on Sunday, April 5, 2026. However, Netflix has yet to officially announce a release date for the anime’s episodes on its streaming service.
Previously, new episodes of One Piece were released six days after the Japanese broadcasts on Saturdays. If this is true for the Elbaf Island Arc episodes, the first episode will be released on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Part 2 (cour 2) will be released later this year. However, the release date for part 2 has yet to be anounced, and we won’t learn the release date until after part 1 has concluded.
