Ellen DeGeneres is giving fans a peek at her new chapter abroad with wife Portia de Rossi.
On Wednesday, August 20, the former daytime host, 67, shared an Instagram video of de Rossi, 52, riding her horse through the rolling English countryside near their second home. “Portia’s living her dream riding her horse through the English countryside and into the village. Gosh I hope she comes home soon,” DeGeneres captioned the clip, showing off some clips of the actress riding in the picturesque countryside.

“Straight out of a countryside dream. Portia looks every bit the princess,” a third stated.
The couple relocated to England last year, opting for the quieter surroundings of the Cotswolds. Since then, they’ve fully embraced country living, with DeGeneres noting that their move was largely inspired by de Rossi’s need for equestrian space. “When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” DeGeneres explained in a statement to the Wall Street Journal. “We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”
Rumors swirled regarding the couple and their relocation after their current estate — a sprawling 43-acre property with 16,600 square feet of living space — was put up for sale. The pair purchased the farm only last year but reportedly upgraded to an even larger, modern residence nearby. Their listing agent confirmed the couple hopes to sell the Cotswolds retreat for roughly $10 million more than they originally paid, thanks to significant renovations, according to the Journal.

The couple recently celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, which DeGeneres marked with another sweet tribute to her wife on Instagram. “Happy 17th anniversary of the best day of my life. Portia, I love you more everyday,” she wrote in the caption of a video compilation full of iconic moments in their lives together.
The duo initially met in 2001 but didn’t begin dating until late 2004 after re-kindling their relationship at the VH1 Big In Awards. They got married four years later in 2008 in an intimate wedding ceremony in Los Angeles.
