Enjoy the outdoors in style at one of these seven glamping spots in Alberta

9 June 20253 Mins Read

Newsflash: you can appreciate the beauty of nature without sleeping in a cramped tent. If you love the great outdoors but aren’t so keen on the regular aspects of camping, glamping — that’s glamour camping — combines the best of nature with the best of modern amenities. You know, like electricity, running water, and so on.

Some spots across Alberta take glamping to the next level. If you want a luxurious and memorable nature experience, here are seven places you can book this summer.

Ten minutes from Cold Lake lies a unique all-inclusive glamping experience. Whether you stay in a canvas tent or geo-dome, you’ll be greeted with Prosecco and chocolate-covered strawberries on arrival and will have access to 151 acres of untouched boreal forest.

Where: Township Rd. 640, Bonnyville No. 87
Rates: $145+

Take in the beauty of Drumheller’s badlands from a geo-dome or yurt while enjoying access to a shared greenhouse, a pick-your-own-produce garden, communal firepits, and gorgeous hiking areas. There’s also a sauna coming soon!

Where: 281 5th Ave. S, Rosedale
Rates: $180+

Disconnect to reconnect in a private dome or canopy tent along the Elbow River, just five minutes away from Bragg Creek. This Indigenous-owned family campground is a perfect getaway for couples and families alike, and is even open year-round.

Where: 2822 Wintergreen Rd., Bragg Creek
Rates: $135+

It’s not just glamping. It’s medieval glamping. Choose between staying in luxury medieval tents, cottages, and caravans, and enjoy daily activities such as long-bow archery, sword-fighting lessons, craft workshops, and nature walks. And yes, costumes are included.

Where: 235035 Township Rd. 310, Three Hills
Rates: $300+

This premier four-season glamping destination offers hundreds of acres of gorgeous land to explore. Domes and tiny homes are a serene place to rest your head after a day of adventure, and you can even bring your own non-motorized watercraft to enjoy on the lake.

Where: 56517 Range Rd. 50, Cherhill
Rates: Varies by date

These adults-only luxury eco-cabins are the perfect destination for couples and travellers to experience the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Nearby activities include a Nordic spa, golf, horseback riding, and other guided outdoor tours.

Where: 3 Flat Creek Rd., Kananaskis Village
Rates: Varies by date

These trappers’ tents or tipis overlooking the Kananaskis River are the ideal site for a family adventure. Enjoy onsite sports courts, hiking, and stargazing, or take advantage of exclusive discounts at nearby activities, including cave tours, raft tours, alpine helicopters, and more.

Where: 2 Sundance Rd., Hwy 40, Kananaskis
Rates: Varies by date
