This year’s ski season is just around the corner, which means winter adventurers don’t have long to wait before they get to explore some of the best slopes around. And there are plenty of new, exciting runs, chairlifts, and events coming to British Columbia’s top ski resorts, so buckle in.
Here’s everything new coming to BC’s ski resorts this season.
Whistler Blackcomb
Stretching over two mountains with state-of-the-art technology, this world-famous resort is introducing an upgraded, high-speed Jersey Cream Chairlift, expected to increase uphill capacity and reduce lift-line wait times.
There will also be two exciting events to look forward to this season: Luge Canada 2025 World Championships, which will take place from February 6th to 8th, 2025, and the Invictus Games taking place from February 8th to 16th.
Sun Peaks
Situated 45 minutes from Kamloops is Sun Peaks, AKA the second-largest ski area in Canada. With two alpine bowls and 138 runs, there will be new skiable terrain to add to the mix starting this scene via the New West Bowl Express. Here, guests will find a new high-speed quad chairlift that takes them to a zone of Tod Mountain that is one of the highest-elevation skiable areas.
There will also be a new permanent ski and snowboard cross course on Sundance Mountain to check out.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
Considered the “Champagne Powder Capital of Canada,” Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will be the only North American stop on the 2025 Freeride World Tour, AKA one of the most exciting global winter competitions formed in recent years.
As well, Kicking Horse is debuting new adult programs for skiers and snowboarders at their Winter Sports School, including First tracks, Trees and Skis Eco Tours, Mogul Monday clinics, and Training Thursdays clinics.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort
With legendary powder and vast mountain terrain, Revelstoke Mountain Resort is a small-town destination you won’t want to miss. New this year is a dedicated program (free admission!) helping visitors familiarize themselves with the mountain before heading out on their own.
Whitewater Ski Resort
New terrain alert! Whitewater Ski Resort is introducing over 60 acres of new inbound terrain, adding four new runs to the resort’s trail map as it expands into the iconic Ymir Bowl. The expansion marks a new dimension to the on-mountain experience, and will be accessible via the Raven Chairlift that just opened last winter.
RED Mountain Resort
Situated near Rossland, RED Mountain Resort is bringing back its popular pay-per-run Cat, allowing guests to hop from the summit of Grey Mountain and hitch a ride to the top of Mount Kirkup. Here, there’s an incredible 2,054 vertical drop on runs back to the Grey Chairlift.
And that’s a wrap, skiers and snowboarders! Stay tuned for more info as it comes, including the ski hills’ official opening dates this November and December.
