Everything you need to know for Fields of Mistria 1.0 launch week

3 August 20265 Mins Read

If you’ve played Harvest Moon or are looking for a Stardew-like with shades of Zelda and a ‘90s-inspired, Sailor Moon aesthetic, this is it. Fields of Mistria is a $14 farming and life-simulation RPG created by the independent team at NPC Studio. It’s been in early access for two years, and now the full game is launching on Steam on Aug. 5.

Fields of Mistria’s early access was incredibly well-received, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam after more than 21,000 reviews. For the past two years, players have eagerly awaited pre-release updates that introduced secret bachelorettes, new farming systems, and the ability to progress quests and storylines, like the game’s labyrinthine mines system. And for those two years, the Fields of Mistria subreddit has remained very active, with players showing off fan art, begging the devs for certain characters to become romanceable (we’re looking at you, Elsie and Olric), and constant speculation about what the full game would include.

This week, the wait is over. Here’s everything changing in Fields of Mistria version 1.0.

How much will Fields of Mistria 1.0 cost?

Fields of Mistria costs $13.99 on Steam. The team at NPC Studio has confirmed that this price will not go up with the 1.0 release.

What platforms is Fields of Mistria available on?

Right now, Fields of Mistria is available on PC and is Steam Deck compatible. The devs say to stay tuned about future ports to other platforms.

All the new additions coming to Fields of Mistria 1.0

  • More relationship time. The NPC heart level caps will increase from 8 to 10 hearts.
  • More relationship milestones. For romanceable characters, there will be 10-heart proposals, wedding events, and the ability to start families.
  • More NPCs. There are new Saturday Market vendors coming to town – specifically, Stillwell, a fortune teller slash wizard, and Zorel, a music vendor. (Tragically, neither appears to be a romance option.)
  • The conclusion of the Town Repair storyline. It’ll feel so good to see Mistria fully healed through its post-earthquake reconstruction saga.
  • More renown. In 1.0, the Renown Level – or the measure of how well the Mistria rebuild is going – will be raised to 100.
  • More requests. The town’s Request Board is getting a refresh, with new projects and fetch quests from your neighbors ready for you to tackle.
  • More rewards. There will be more items to collect and new museum sets to fill, along with new goodies for doing so.
  • New skill perks, furniture, decorations, cosmetics, and mount options – including a gigantic chicken you can ride across the map.
  • A full Steam Achievements system. Don’t worry, it’ll incorporate retroactive progress made, so you’ll get credit for your early access accomplishments.
  • Beta localization options. You’ll be able to play in French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Traditional/Simplified Chinese.

The Fields of Mistria team notes that there will be further game updates and content drops after 1.0, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the Fields of Mistria subreddit (or our coverage!) so you’re always in the know.

Will my Fields of Mistria save transfer to version 1.0?

Yes! Never fear, all your hard work from the Early Access period will transfer. Though, if you wanted to start a new save file now to experience the full game with all the new features from day one, we’re certainly not stopping you…

Here’s what fans are most excited for about Fields of Mistria 1.0

For months, the fanbase has been buzzing about possible 1.0 updates.

Romance and family-building options seem to be top of mind for most players, which makes sense, as the romancing options in Fields of Mistria are extensive, well-written, and exceedingly adorable. The community’s excited to learn more about the precise logistics of fantasy babies (Juniper has a kid now?) as well as what the story will look like if a player chooses to be childfree (how will that affect the amount of content you’ll get?).

Fans are looking forward to the Steam Achievements system, too. What milestones are going to get tracked? Heart levels? Shipping totals? How decked-out your farm is? And just how ultra-specific, stop-everything-and-smile will the text of those achievements be?

There’s also a crowdsourced wishlist of items unconfirmed for 1.0 that fans are very, very interested to see – think: Being able to fix up the lighthouse, more Friday Night at the Inn content (can we join that Dungeons & Dragons game already?!), and definitely romanceable Saturday Market vendors. These and other possible post-1.0 updates are, for now, community wishes only. And that’s more than okay: With that giant chicken to contend with, Fields of Mistria 1.0 should provide enough to stay happily busy for the foreseeable future.

Fields of Mistria 1.0 will be released on Aug. 5 on Steam.
