Fan-Favorite 'Today' Personality's 'Outstanding' Cover of '70s Hit Earns High Praise

11 July 20252 Mins Read

Beloved Today meteorologist Dylan Dreyer unveiled an unexpected talent at this year’s American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament, where she and husband Brian Fichera took home second place during the celebrity karaoke contest with a rousing, rocking rendition of an ’80s classic.

The couple performed The B-52’s “Love Shack” for the event, which is a staple of the annual tournament that takes place every July in Lake Tahoe, Calif. The cameraman sounded almost identical to the record, with Dreyer quipping that she was going to have him “carry the song” before the music had even started.

“SECOND PLACE at American Century Championship (in the celebrity karaoke contest)!!! Love Shack baby!!!” she cheered in the caption. “Thanks to @jaydemarcus and @jasonscheff and the rest of Generation Radio for backing us up!!! What a fun night!!”

While Fichera may have proved to be the stronger singer of the two, fans agreed that the two “killed it” together.

“This is epic!!! 😁,” one praised, while another replied, “You two are too cute!!”

“Why are you so dang cute!!!!!” someone agreed. “Nailed it!!!!”

“Outstanding🤩🤩,” another declared.

“That’s awesome. You guys really rocked it out!! Sooo enjoyed it. Congrats to both of you!! 👏👏👏👏,” somebody else applauded, while another declared they “were ROBBED” for not having come in at the top.

Many, of course, were dying to know who took home first place, if not these two. Last year, the honor went to Travis Kelce, who dedicated his big win—with White Snake’s “Here I Go Again”—to Taylor Swift. It’s unclear at this time who took home the grand prize this year, though Kelce did make his grand return to the stage with brother Jason Kelce to show off his vocal chops on a ’70s rock classic.
