Fans are outraged over Ticketmaster’s handling of Coldplay shows in Toronto

11 July 20252 Mins Read

Coldplay fans are sounding off on social media after a messy rollout for the band’s Toronto shows left many heartbroken and shocked over tickets getting flipped for sky-high prices.

The Music of the Spheres World Tour touched down in Toronto this month, with two back-to-back shows left at the Rogers Centre on July 11 and 12. But for many fans, trying to score tickets has been nothing short of a disaster.

One frustrated fan tagged the band directly in a post on X:

“@coldplay please do something, I have been a huge fan for years. I want to see you in Toronto. I have sat on TICKETMASTER for months/days & hours there were released tickets at 9 I got them but it glitched and now they are being resold for 1600$! I am a true fan who wants to come😭”

The tweet has struck a nerve with other fans who also experienced Ticketmaster glitches, queue chaos, pricing disparity, and disappearing seats — even after waiting for hours in line. To make things worse, tickets that were originally priced around $100–$200 are now being resold on Ticketmaster’s own platform for upwards of $1,600, leaving many loyal fans priced out entirely.

A fan on X called the ticketing platform out directly for their outrageously priced “standard tickets”:

“@TicketmasterCA I stand corrected, there are standard price tickets available, only thing not standard is the price. Shame on Ticketmaster #Canada fleecing real @coldplay fans!!!! How do you justify quadrupling the price in 8 years?!?! #shame #toronto #coldplay”

Ticketmaster has yet to comment publicly on the ticketing fiasco, and has not responded to blogTO’s request for immediate comment as of publication.

In the meantime, fans are left refreshing resale pages, hoping for a miracle — or just a price drop that won’t break the bank.
