Fans Can Watch 'Wicked: For Good' at Home Before New Year's: 'So Excited'

If you’re looking to cozy up with a great movie for New Year’s, you now have a “wicked” option in store.

Fans will be able to watch Wicked: For Good at home starting Dec. 30, Deadline reports, as Universal’s sequel will hit PVOD on digital platforms in what is a 43-day exclusive theatrical window. That means part 2 of Wicked, the award-winning 2024 film, will be available to buy or rent exclusively on digital platforms by next Tuesday.

The at-home viewing experience of Wicked: For Good includes two versions of the sequel, Deadline also noted on Friday, Dec. 26, along with an exclusive sing-along for fans and more than an hour of bonus features.

The official WickedInstagram account announced the exciting PVOD news on Friday, in a joint post with star Cynthia Erivo. “There’s nowhere like home to watch Wicked: For Good,” the post’s caption reads. “Rent or buy starting December 30 with an exclusive sing-along and never-before-seen deleted scenes!”

Fans voiced their utter excitement at the upcoming at-home release in the post’s comments section. “SO EXCITED DEC 30,” wrote one user, while another person commented, “My NYE plans sorted.”

Here are some highlights from the soon-to-be-released bonus content, per Deadline:

• Deleted scene highlights:
  o Glinda Train Tour – As Glinda leaves Emerald City, the citizens erupt into musical fanfare, sending her off with cheers and celebration — featuring Ariana Grande, Michelle Yeoh and Bowen Yang.
  o Friendship Montage – A montage of Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero, Boq and Nessarose spending an afternoon together — playing games, laughing and relaxing over a picnic — featuring Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Jonathan Bailey, Grande, 32, and Erivo, 38.
• THE TRUE WIZARD – Director Jon M. Chu on his inventiveness and passion.

Looking ahead, Wicked: For Good will be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray & DVD on Jan. 20, 2026, according to Deadline.

Meanwhile, the sequel’s musical numbers have been taking flight of late. Earlier this month, “No Good Deed” — performed by Erivo — cracked the TikTok Top 20 and landed squarely in the No. 17 spot.
