Scrabble has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing it on family game nights, brought travel editions along on trips, and have had more than a few fiercely competitive matches with friends over the years. So when I came across a version that doubles as decor, I was immediately intrigued.

Priced at $45, the Scrabble Vintage Bookshelf Edition is available at Walmart and Amazon. Its linen-wrapped case and retro artwork pay homage to the original 1948 edition, giving the word game a nostalgic makeover that looks display-worthy on any shelf or side table. One shopper said it was “perfect” for their bookshelf, while others praised how easy it is to store when it’s not in use.

The linen-wrapped case measures 10.6 by 8.4 by 2.6 inches and comes with a protective slipcover to keep the set neatly stored between games. Inside, the classic game gets an elevated touch with wooden letter tiles and wooden tile racks, which gives this set a premium feel.  When you’re done playing, the pieces tuck neatly into the case’s built-in storage.

It’s designed for two to four players ages 8 and up, making it an easy pick for family game night, or a casual get-together with friends.

The book-like design is clearly a hit with Scrabble fans, too. One shopper called the set “elegant,” while another said it’s “great quality and looks so cute on my bookshelf.” A third called it an “absolutely beautiful addition” to their game collection, adding, “This will be used for many years creating memories.”

The display-worthy design also makes it a thoughtful present for a Scrabble fan or anyone who loves vintage-style decor. One shopper called it “a great gift for family and friends, especially around the holidays.”
