- Minor Hotels is launching the first Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in India, the Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort.

Minor Hotels has announced its first Avani Hotels & Resorts brand in India, the Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort. The new development, located along the picturesque Sunray Beach in Visakhapatnam, is part of Minor Hotels’ aggressive expansion plan in India, which aims to open 50 new hotels within the next ten years.
The resort, which is projected to be completed by 2028, will include 117 hotel rooms and 58 branded residential villas. It will also offer a range of high-end amenities, including three F&B venues, a banqueting hall, an AvaniSpa, and an AvaniFit gym. One of the leisure highlights will be a nine-hole par-three golf course.
The Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort will be built on a 25.5-acre site in Bhogapuram, strategically located near the upcoming Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport. The proximity to the Bay of Bengal and National Highways 16 and 26 positions this project as a prime destination for local and international travelers.
This new resort is set to cater to the increasing demand in Visakhapatnam, a city known for its commercial sector and growing leisure tourism. With the rapid development of Information Technology Special Economic Zones and infrastructure enhancements in the area, the resort is expected to provide superior accommodation options for business and leisure tourists.
Sunray Green Space Pvt Ltd, a well-known real estate developer in Visakhapatnam, is developing the project. Mr. I.A. Raja Varma, the founder and Managing Director of Sunray Green Space, has received multiple awards from the Government of Andhra Pradesh for his sustainable and eco-friendly tourism projects.
