The Fantastic Four: First Steps took a dramatic tumble at the box office after its July 25 opening weekend, with a drop of 66% for its second week. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most loyal fans showed up to see how the film set on an alternate retro-futuristic version of Earth would set up Avengers: Doomsday, giving it a solid debut. But the drop in interest mirrors the disappointing theatrical performances of Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World.

When will The Fantastic Four: First Steps be available to rent or purchase digitally?
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will arrive on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home and other VOD platforms on Sept. 23. It is currently available to preorder for $29.99.
When will The Fantastic Four: First Steps be available on Blu-ray/DVD?
The film’s 4K UHD digital, DVD and Blu-ray versions will be available on Oct. 14. The physical release includes a gag reel, a featurette on the creation of the Fantastic Four, and audio commentary from director Matt Shakman and production designer Kasra Farahani. Shakman and the crew also discuss the experience of shooting in the massive sets used to create a retro-futuristic version of New York and their approach to bringing characters like Galactus, Mole Man, and the Silver Surfer from the page to the screen.
The physical release also includes five deleted scenes such as the celebration of Fantastic Four Day and some more time spent in Subterranea. Amazon will be selling an exclusive, limited-edition SteelBook that comes with cards depicting the members of the family and a comic book tie-in.
When will The Fantastic Four: First Steps be available to stream on Disney Plus?
Disney owns Marvel Studios, so Disney Plus will be the first stop for The Fantastic Four: The First Steps. Thunderbolts* arrived on Disney Plus on Aug. 27, about three months after its May 2 theatrical release, and Captain America: Brave New World arrived on the streaming service on May 28 after its Feb. 14 debut. That means The Fantastic Four: First Steps will probably be available on Disney Plus in November.
