The International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR), organized by IFEMA MADRID, reported an economic impact of €505 million in Madrid and welcomed more than 255,000 visitors during its five-day event.

The International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) concluded its latest edition with over 255,000 visitors, according to figures released by IFEMA MADRID. The event, held over five days, included 155,000 professional attendees, consistent with the previous edition, and saw a 12% increase in international attendance. International exhibitors also grew by 11%. Public attendance during the weekend was approximately 100,000.

FITUR 2026 featured participation from more than 10,000 companies from 161 countries, with 111 countries represented officially and 967 main exhibitors. The event generated an economic impact of €505 million in Madrid and helped maintain 3,753 jobs.

The 46th edition of FITUR opened on Wednesday, 21 January, with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of recent railway accidents. The official inauguration took place on Thursday 22 January, attended by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, who signed the book of condolences at the Andalucía stand.

Institutional participation included more than 70 visits by regional presidents, ministers, deputy ministers of tourism, and senior tourism authorities from various countries.

FITUR 2026 used nine exhibition halls, where destinations, companies, and institutions showcased new products, strategies, and projects. The Knowledge Hub included eight auditoriums, ten conference programs, more than 200 sessions, and over 250 speakers.

IFEMA MADRID announced that FITUR 2027 will take place from 20 to 24 January, with Puerto Rico as the Partner Country.
