Former General Hospital star Briana Nicole Henry has opened up about her life following the birth of her second child, sharing intimate details with fans.
Henry gave birth to her second child, Telos Henry-Bowers, on March 27th. Now the actress has shared how that has completely changed her life, and the unexpected heartache that has caused for her and her family. The actress posted photos of herself with her daughter, sharing the story in the captions, “I didn’t know having a second baby could cause such heartache.
Most people don’t like to talk about that part because welcoming a new baby is in many ways beautiful and otherworldly. But it is not just that. Nothing is just that with motherhood. A picture with many different hues.
My girlfriend who had just recently become a mom of two tried to caution me, “it’s going to be hard, I miss him so much she would say”, but I didn’t know the ache would resonate so deep.
I was falling in love with my new baby and missing my first baby like she’d been taken away from me.
I’d sit in the room and hear her giggle somewhere in the house, wondering what was making her laugh so hard and imagining what the smile looked like on her face. I missed preparing her favorite lunches and holding her body close to me without a new little vulnerable human nursing at my chest. Bathing her, walks with her hand in mine, the way it felt to lay in her crib when she couldn’t sleep. I missed it all and still do.
I remember walking into her room a few days postpartum to grab her some underwear and I just stood there, alone, In the middle of her room sobbing. It was the longest period I’d gone without stepping foot in her space, a room I would buzz in and out of several times a day before he came.
There’s a grieving that happens when you bring someone else through your portal. A knowing things will never be exactly the same. A knowing that at least in this early season so far I will miss her and she will miss me, often. My heart and time and love is spread to two now, and she can feel that. We both can. One day it’ll all make sense. They will not remember life without each other, and there is also a beauty in that. But I will, I always will.
Sometimes her little voice will say, “I just want me and mama time”. And I understand. Me too sweet girl, me too.”
