Olivia “Livvy” Dunne struck out after she was denied access to purchasing late baseball legend Babe Ruth’s former New York City apartment.
“Guys, I’m so upset. So, a few months ago, I decided I was going to make my first real estate purchase, which is so exciting, and I was going to get an apartment in New York City. But the gag was, it was Babe Ruth’s apartment,” the former LSU gymnast, 22, explained via TikTok on Tuesday, July 8.
Livvy went on to explain that she told her friends and family she was going to pay for the property in cash, and wanted the apartment “so bad.”
“Like it got to the point where the realtor was so confident. Paul and I went, I got an interior designer because I didn’t want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth’s apartment. That would be, like, criminal,” she continued.
However, her dream quickly turned into a nightmare the week of her move-in date when she got a call and was informed that the co-op board of the building allegedly “denied” her offer.
“So, pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine. Like, honestly, it wasn’t financial,” the influencer explained. “It could have been, for all I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU. Like, I have no clue. Maybe they didn’t want a public figure living there, but I was literally supposed to get the keys, and that week they denied me.”
The Upper West Side Manhattan apartment is on the market for $1.59 million, according to House Beautiful. The abode features three bedrooms and 2.5 baths on the third floor of the popular complex.
Before the late Yankees star’s apartment was put on the market in April, it had been occupied by the same tenants since 2015, according to a report by The New York Post.
