Former Sheraton Carlsbad Resort Reopens as Hotel Solea, Joins Autograph Collection

Hotel Solea officially opened on March 4, 2026, in Carlsbad, California, following a multi-million dollar transformation and is now part of the Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection.

Hotel Solea began operations on March 4, 2026, at 5420 Grand Pacific Dr, Carlsbad, CA 92008. The property, formerly known as the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort, underwent a multi-million dollar transformation before joining the Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection. The hotel features 201 guest rooms and suites, many with private balconies offering coastal or park views.

The opening coincides with the seasonal bloom of The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, which began March 1, and precedes the debut of LEGOLAND California’s LEGO Galaxy Land on March 6. Hotel Solea offers direct access to LEGOLAND California via a private park entrance.

Guest amenities at Hotel Solea include a pool, lounge areas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and access to the Ocean Pearl Spa at The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa. The property provides 70,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including an 8,010-square-foot partitionable ballroom, more than 20 breakout spaces, a grand lawn, an atrium, and a terrace.

Dining options at Hotel Solea include Verise, a modern Italian restaurant created by Chef Riccardo Bilotta and Executive Chef Jason Luke. Verise offers a menu featuring handcrafted pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and regionally inspired dishes. Additional dining options include poolside service and Caffe Al Volo, which serves coffee, pastries, and local provisions.

Hotel Solea is located near several local attractions, including The Flower Fields, The Crossings at Carlsbad golf course, and Carlsbad Village. The property provides a dedicated trolley for transportation throughout Carlsbad Village and the surrounding areas. Hotel Solea shares a campus with The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, which allows guests access to additional amenities.
