Frederick, Maryland Hotel and Conference Center Moves Forward with Land Acquisition

Plamondon Hospitality Partners has acquired land in Downtown Frederick, Maryland, setting the stage for a new hotel and conference center.

Plamondon Hospitality Partners has completed the purchase of a parcel of land in Downtown Frederick, Maryland, which will be used for the development of a new hotel and conference center. The acquisition was finalized on June 12, enabling the company to proceed with groundbreaking plans later this year.

The Randall family previously owned the land and is part of a site identified in 2012 through a competitive request for proposals issued by the City of Frederick for a public-private hotel and conference center. The project has involved collaboration with local and state officials over the years.

The newly acquired land will house the hotel and conference center, while the adjacent Trolley Building and Eagles Building, owned by the Randall family, will undergo separate redevelopment. The Trolley Building, located at 200 E Patrick Street, is being converted into a mixed-use commercial space, with completion expected in 2026. The Eagles Building at 216 E Patrick Street will be transformed into The Banyan, a restaurant, event venue, and rooftop bar.

The future hotel and conference center aims to address a gap in Frederick’s hospitality and event infrastructure by providing space for conferences, weddings, conventions, and corporate gatherings, along with on-site accommodations. The project is expected to contribute to the economic development of Downtown Frederick.

Plamondon Hospitality Partners has expressed gratitude to its state, county, and city partners for their support throughout the process. The acquisition of the land marks a significant milestone, allowing the company to move forward with the next phase of development.
