March Break is coming up from March 17 to 28, 2025 across the Metro Vancouver school districts (including Vancouver, North Vancouver, Richmond, Delta, and Surrey), which means families are gearing up to get out of the house and have some fun without breaking the bank. So, with that in mind, here are some free and cheap attractions to check out during March Break in and around Vancouver.
Free admission for kids at Malahat SkyWalk
Kids and teens aged 17 and under can get free admission to the Malahat SkyWalk between March 15 and 30, 2025. During their visit, visitors can enjoy access to the seven-story spiral slide, Spiral Tower, TreeWalk, and Luke’s Lane. Cozy up by a fire and grab snacks at the Tower Plaza to refuel.

LEGO Block Party
Drop in for some LEGO® building fun at this block party at the Kitsilano branch of the Vancouver Public Library! Perfect for grades K-7, this event connects children on break for an hour of LEGO-building fun from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Super Spheros
Speaking of the VPL, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Britannia Branch on Monday, March 17, kids can use their engineering skills and creativity to help a Sphero robot go through a variety of challenges designed for Grades 2-7.

Family Movie: Inside Out (2015)
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., children and their accompanying caregivers can catch a screening of Inside Out at the Renfrew VPL branch.

Vancouver Aquarium
It’s not free to enter, but it’s always a great time at the Vancouver Aquarium, and there are currently multiple exhibits to check out. This includes the “Survival of the Slowest” exhibit featuring Earth’s slowest movers like sloths, and the Clownfish Cove play area with hands-on activities at the Rescue Station.

March Break movies at Cineplex
Skip Saturday morning cartoons in favour of Saturday movies! Throughout March, select Cineplex theatres around Vancouver are hosting family-friendly showings of some very fun movies. The best part? Admission is just $3.99, plus a $1 booking fee.

Science World
Arguably the most iconic building in the city, and another solid family-friendly pick. In addition to their regular exhibitions, you’ll also be able to check out their new feature exhibition, Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits. It allows guests to get hands-on with the psychology and science behind some of the most thrilling sports in the world.
