Free outdoor movies are coming to the heart of Vancouver’s ‘Little Italy’ this summer

16 July 20262 Mins Read

It’s outdoor movie season, with tons of opportunities to catch a film under the stars at Stanley Park, at the Shipyards, and beyond. And now, it’s time to add Commercial Drive to your list, as a new series called Cinema Sul Corso makes its way to the heart of Vancouver’s “Little Italy.”

Set to bring five free outdoor movie nights to Kitchener Piazza this August, Cinema Sul Corso promises an unforgettable neighbourhood vibe for all who come together. Each Sunday in August, there will be free family-friendly activities and tasty food vendors from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., with movies starting at dusk.

Here are all the movies you can catch at the Piazza this summer (so far):

  • Aug. 2 – Luca
  • Aug. 9 – Big Night
  • Aug. 16 – Roman Holiday
  • Aug. 23 – Cinema Paradiso
  • Aug. 30 – Under the Tuscan Sun

Cinema Sul Corso will take place at the Little Italy Kitchener Piazza, right next to LIVIA.

The piazza is already buzzing with activity between the FIFA World Cup watch parties and LIVIA’s epic Friday night barbecues and boils, and this is just another reason to add the beloved patio to your summer itinerary.

Looking for more fun on Commercial this summer? The first-ever Spaghetti Disco is coming up on Aug. 22, with early bird tickets going on sale July 28 at 10 a.m.

The massive pasta and wine celebration is inspired by Italy’s famous Ferragosto Festival, featuring exclusive pasta dishes, Italian wine, Italian Disco, and Euro House anthems. In a nutshell: a memorable night filled with great food and drink, and dancing, organized by the team behind Vancouver’s popular Rosé Disco.

Just because the World Cup is coming to a close doesn’t mean that the Drive won’t still be a blast and a half. In fact, the summer fun is just getting started.

When: Sunday, Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2026
Time: 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., movies start at dusk
Where: Little Italy Kitchener Piazza (next to LIVA Forno e Vino — 1399 Commercial Dr.)
Cost: Free admission
