Where does time go? That’s what Beach Boys singer Mike Loveimplied in a recent Instagram post announcing that John Stamos will join the Beach Boys on the band’s upcoming The Sounds of Summer Tour.
It’s been nearly 40 years since Stamos first performed with the band on July 4, 1985, at the Washington Monument to a crowd of close to a million people.

“It’s hard to believe that it was 40 years ago that @johnstamos first joined us on stage as our guest drummer! Amazing!! We are excited to celebrate this milestone with John on THE SOUNDS OF SUMMER” TOUR! Come see @thebeachboys and everyone’s favorite uncle together at the dates below. Tickets are on sale now at thebeachboys.com.,” Love wrote in an Instagram post, shared jointly on his and Stamos’ accounts on May 23.
The post also features a photo of himself and Stamos, wearing a guitar, onstage with the Beach Boys iconic logo on a backdrop behind them.

Fans reacted to the post and the 1970 song, “Forever,” which Love chose to soundtrack the post.
“My favourite song, the vocals, the lyrics, the music, perfect❣️ I do have alot of Beach Boy albums. Beautiful, 😢 happy tears of remembrance of all these years. Thank you ❣️ 😊,” wrote one fan.
“This was my wedding song . 😢,” added another.
Another fan focused on the milestone anniversary coming up for Stamos and the Beach Boys.
“Happy 40 anniversary to @johnstamos with your beloved beach boys.. I love John as beach boys drummer . I love The Beach Boys and I still remember as young girl watching those old beach boy videos Kokomo etc and seeing John as the drummer . 🥁 @mikeloveofficial John and beach boys such amazing partners love you all 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌,” they wrote.
