Garner Brand Debuts in Germany with Three Hotel Openings – Image Credit IHG Hotels & Resorts
This marks the first time Garner hotels have been opened outside of the Americas.
IHG Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with NOVUM Hospitality, has launched the Garner brand in Europe, starting with Germany.
Three Garner hotels were inaugurated within ten days in Germany: Garner Hotel Hamburg Nord, Garner Hotel Elmshorn, and Garner Hotel Augsburg. The Garner brand aims to provide quality stays at an affordable price, focusing on the essentials that guests value, such as convenient location, comfortable accommodation, free Wi-Fi, and reliable amenities.
Garner Hotel Hamburg Nord, with 100 rooms, is in the northeast of Hamburg, offering easy access to shopping districts, restaurants, bars, and transport links. Garner Hotel Elmshorn, opened in October 2024, is located near a business park 30 minutes from Hamburg. The hotel has 75 rooms suitable for business and leisure travelers. Garner Hotel Augsburg Nord, in the culturally rich city of Augsburg, offers 132 rooms and is equipped for business needs.
These three hotels join the IHG’s global portfolio of over 90 Garner hotels, launched in 2023. The brand is touted as an attractive new option in the midscale segment, offering flexibility, affordability, and a high-quality guest experience.
Mario Maxeiner, Managing Director Northern Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed satisfaction over the successful launch of the first Garner-branded hotels in Europe, particularly in Germany, one of IHG’s key growth markets. He also mentioned the planned expansion of more than 50 Garner hotels in the Northern Europe market.
David Etmenan, CEO and owner of NOVUM Hospitality, also expressed pride in launching the first Garner hotels in Europe. He confirmed that the aim is to complete the rebranding of all existing hotels to the Garner brand by mid-2025.
The newly opened properties were converted from NOVUM Hospitality’s Yggotel, Select Hotels, and Novum Hotels brands. This follows a long-term agreement between IHG and NOVUM Hospitality to bring more than 50 Garner hotels to Germany and over 50 Holiday Inn – the niu brand collaboration hotels and 12 Candlewood Suites hotels.
