Gatorade's ‘Intriguing’ New Lineup Flavors Has Fans Saying, 'I Dreamed of This'

21 March 20253 Mins Read

The kids these days are all talking about reheating nachos, and for those of us not hip to new lingo, it sounds like everyone is suddenly obsessing over one of the greatest dishes known to humankind. In reality, though, the saying is a colloquial phrase for when a celebrity or brand digs back into their archives to revitalize an aesthetic or sound that they once pioneered. While its origins are a bit murky, the term peaked in popularity last month when Lady Gaga released “Abracadabra,” the first single for her most recent album, Mayhem.

This return to the dirty-pop sounds of Gaga’s heyday reminded fans that we’ve seen this before. Thus, reheating your nachos was born. Celebs aren’t the only ones looking toward the past, however. Food brands have also been reheating their nachos, with brands like Taco Bell launching their Through the Decades Menu to reintroduce fans to items they might’ve forgotten existed. It’s almost become customary to innovate by looking backward. As they say, history may not repeat itself, but it often rhymes.

The latest brand to seemingly dip back into the vault to unearth a plate of nachos most of us never even saw is none other than beloved thirst-quenching brand Gatorade, and @markie_devo is sharing all the deets. Gatorade announced a new line of Garotade Mashups, causing some of us to have deja vu. These exciting new flavors come in two varieties—Cool Blue x Fruit Punch and Lemon Lime x Orange. Each bottle purports to contain both iconic flavors mashed up into one. Sound familiar?

Eagle-eyed fans (code word for millennials) were quick to point out that these sound an awful lot like Gatorade X-Factor, which was essentially the same thing. While the X-Factor line included flavors like Lemon Lime x Strawberry and Orange x Tropical, it’s hard not to get a faint whiff of twice-baked nacho chips. Regardless, fans seem to be on board with the second helping of nachos, with most saying, “Oh, this is such a great idea!” We think a second helping of nachos sounds like a good idea, too.

If you’d like to try these nachos—erm, Gatorade flavors—for yourself, you can find them at some gas stations and convenience stores with a national rollout planned for this April.
