Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress Eden McCoy’s short film The Mime and the Clown has been accepted into the 2025 NYC Independent Film Festival.
The short film’s story description is listed as: “In the Mime and the Clown, Tom and Willa, a tumultuous couple performing as a mime and clown duo act at children’s parties, find their relationship at a crossroads. The story unfolds as Willa, exasperated with their chaotic lifestyle, confronts Tom in an emotionally charged conversation. True to her clownish persona, Willa uses humor and antics to provoke a response from her reserved, non-verbal partner. In a heartfelt and unconventional gesture, Tom expresses his feelings for Willa in the only way he knows—through the art of mime.”
The short film was created in Joshua Tree, California. The film has a runtime of just under seven minutes. The Mime and the Clown made its world premiere in 2024 and has since been screened at various film festivals, with the NYC Independent Film Festival being the latest.
McCoy’s real-life partner Jonathan Morgan Heit co-stars in the short film. Heit also directed, wrote, and co-produced the film along with McCoy and Tyler Transki.
Heit’s credits include Granite Flats and the upcoming Operation Blackout 2023. He lends his voice in the Disney Jr. series Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Family Guy.
In addition to General Hospital, McCoy’s credits include Scary Tales, The Thundermans, Game Shakers, Walk the Prank, Cookies and Crime, and more.
McCoy won a Daytime Emmy for her performance on General Hospital in 2023 as Josslyn Jacks.
