Ghost of Yōtei release time in your time zone

30 September 20253 Mins Read

In Ghost of Yōtei, we follow Atsu and her journey for vengeance against those who killed her family. As the successor of Ghost of Tsushima, the new Sucker Punch game promises a large map to be explored, enemies to fight with a katana, and an epic journey. If you’re eager to jump into Ghost of Yōtei and feel like you’re in one of Kurosawa’s movies, don’t worry. It won’t take long.

Here’s when Ghost of Yōtei releases in your time zone, along with what to expect from this new tale of vengeance.

Ghost of Yōtei release time in your time zone

For most places in the world, Ghost of Yōtei will be available at midnight (local time). This means people in New Zealand will, yes, have first dibs, so beware of spoilers if you’re perusing Twitch or other social media channels.

However, if you live in the United States, the country-wide release time is based on EDT. This translates to the following:

  • 9 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, Oct. 1 for the west coast of North America
  • 11 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, Oct. 1 for central North America
  • 12 a.m. EDT on Thursday, Oct. 2 for the east coast of North America

What to expect from Ghost of Yōtei

Like in the previous Ghost game, Ghost of Yōtei is a single-player action game with an open world to explore and a main campaign to follow. The story follows Atsu, a woman who’s ready to put her life at risk to pursue the Yōtei Six, the group who slaughtered her family. As we follow Atsu, we will have the chance to learn more about her past and the moments she shared with her family.

To find the Yōtei Six members, Atsu will travel through Japan and take us to see many breathtaking landscapes. From foggy forests with red-leaf trees to a mountain peak completely covered in snow, we are bound to see many natural wonders. This immense world was designed to give players freedom to explore and drive their own experience based on a clue system Sucker Punch added to the game. Depending on the information you get from enemies and other people you meet, you may learn about new places to explore, enemies to pursue, or abilities to unlock.

But as you take Atsu to new locations, you must be prepared to face all kinds of enemies. Atsu can wield different types of weapons, from a katana to a kusarigama. Her vast arsenal is fundamental to responding to the specific enemies that will appear in her way. Some are weak to the dual swords Atsu can use, while in other situations, she needs to use a spear to prevail. Each of these weapons has unique upgrades to unlock and movesets to master.
