Gladlands trailer reveals a Mad Max-inspired world

Brennan Lee Mulligan might be the busiest man in the tabletop actual play space. Not only is he currently the dungeon master for Critical Role Campaign Four, he’s also DMing a new season of Dimension 20, premiering January 7, 2026.

Dimension 20: Gladlands is set in a Mad Max-like, post-apocalyptic setting. As the Gladlands title implies, however, this world isn’t all dour and bleak. The people of this wasteland “turn to community and kindness for survival,” according to a news release. A graphic at the end of the trailer includes the tagline “The world might have ended but manners didn’t!” so expect the NPCs to be a bit politer than the War Boys Max had to contend with.

DM Mulligan will be joined by a party of six Dropout alumni. Intrepid heroes Ally Beardsley and Zac Oyama are staples in the dome at this point, and Oscar Montoya and Jacob Wysocki are returning after appearances in past Dimension 20 series A Court of Fey and Flowers and Never Stop Blowing Up, respectively. Kimia Behpoornia and honorary Dropout president Vic Michaelis will make their Dimension 20 debuts when Gladlands premieres.

Gladlands will be Dimension 20‘s 27th campaign since the series began in 2018 with Fantasy High. It kicks things off Jan. 7, and new episodes will release on Wednesdays for six weeks. Like with past seasons, new episodes of Adventuring Party, the talk-back series, will follow the next day.
