Global hitmaker and producer GORDO to headline music series in Toronto

6 August 20263 Mins Read

Hitmaking producer and DJ GORDO is coming to Toronto next month to headline the second installment of the new premium electronic music showcase series at Port Lands.

The Billboard No. 1 Hot 100 producer, known for his creativity behind Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind, will bring his globally acclaimed Taraka brand and experience to the city on Sunday, Sept. 6.

Internationally celebrated DJ and producer Francis Mercier will also tag along on the musical venture, continuing the success the series has seen in the new music destination.

“Building on that momentum, the producers behind Black Coffee are partnering with GORDO’s globally acclaimed Taraka brand to present its signature experience on a scale and in a reimagined event format unlike anything currently available in Toronto, continuing their vision of bringing the world’s most influential electronic music artists to the city through immersive productions and elevated hospitality,” shares a press release.

Similar to the format introduced during Black Coffee, organizers share there are a number of additions “designed to further elevate the guest experience.” This includes expanded hospitality offerings and refined venue operations.

What to expect if it’s your first time

The reimagined venue experience features elevated VIP platforms surrounding the stage in a 360-degree format and various hospitality partner lounges. Think arena-style, where the main stage is surrounded by these platforms and the dance floor at the core.

Guests can also expect multiple VIP tiers, a world-class production environment, an Ibiza-style presentation and a delicious menu by The Food Dudes.

According to organizers, Taraka is designed for a mature audience that “appreciates world-class music, premium hospitality, and an elevated event experience.”
